About this role

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a PRN Pharmacy Technician II for its hospital campus in Hinsdale, Illinois. ### What you'll do - Accurately prepare and dispense patient-specific medication doses, verifying drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode accuracy - Compound sterile IV solutions and piggyback containers under aseptic conditions following USP <795> & <797> guidelines - Manage automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), troubleshoot pharmacy automation systems, and interpret electronic health records to support safe medication use - Maintain inventory integrity by receiving and rotating stock, removing expired medications, and managing controlled substances in compliance with regulatory standards - Identify and help prevent medication errors, including look-alike/sound-alike risks, contributing to a culture of safety - Support compliance documentation, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and assist with training and mentorship of pharmacy learners ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required - 1+ years of hospital, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy experience - Active Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) license or registration required - Proficiency in sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, and ADC management - Ability to work shifts ranging from 6:00 AM to 12:30 AM across a 7-day operation ### What's included - Pay range: $19.62–$31.40/hour (~$40,800–$65,300 annualized equivalent) - PRN/per-diem schedule with day shift availability across all seven days of the week ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is a faith-based health system serving the western Chicago suburbs from its Hinsdale campus at 120 N. Oak Street. The pharmacy department supports a full inpatient hospital environment with central distribution, decentralized services, and a regulated cleanroom compounding program.
