About this role
An Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) is needed at AdventHealth's Cancer Institute in Orlando, FL, to deliver rapid assessment and symptom management for cancer patients in a dedicated outpatient infusion and urgent care setting.
### What you'll do
- Conduct episodic health histories and physical assessments for patients presenting with fever, dehydration, respiratory distress, or altered mental status.
- Identify and manage chemotherapy and immunotherapy toxicities, including hypersensitivity and immunotherapy-related adverse reactions.
- Order and interpret labs and radiology, and perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and vascular access device management.
- Serve on emergency response teams (ACLS) within the infusion center to manage life-threatening situations.
- Triage patient phone calls and escalate complex cases to supervising medical oncologists as appropriate.
- Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, and post-urgent-visit follow-up care in collaboration with oncologists, surgeons, and palliative care teams.
### What we're looking for
- Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program with current Florida state licensure and DEA registration.
- Minimum 3–5 years of advanced practice experience in Hematology/Oncology.
- Minimum 1–3 years of advanced practice experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Care, or Critical Care.
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Specialized oncology certification (e.g., AOCNP) preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy.
