About this role
AdventHealth Palm Coast is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse Infection Preventionist at their facility on Memorial Medical Parkway in Palm Coast, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program, aligning initiatives with organizational quality and safety goals
- Conduct surveillance using epidemiologic principles and statistical tools to detect disease trends, clusters, and outbreaks
- Perform facility rounding, audits, and IPC assessments; identify gaps in cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization and deliver actionable feedback
- Develop and deliver IPC education programs tailored to varied audiences to improve staff competency and compliance
- Collaborate with antimicrobial stewardship programs and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality improvement and risk mitigation
- Leverage technology for surveillance and reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely submission to regulatory systems
### What we're looking for
- Associate degree in health science, healthcare delivery, public health, laboratory science, or related field (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, infection control, or public health
- Infection Control Certification (CIC) preferred
- Strong analytical, data collection, and report-writing skills
- Ability to apply evidence-based guidelines and conduct detailed risk assessments
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners including public health officials
