About this role
A Radiation Therapist role at AdventHealth is based in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, delivering radiation treatment to oncology patients under the direction of Radiation Oncologists.
### What you'll do
- Evaluate prescribed imaging, document treatment information in the electronic health record, and make requested changes within 24 hours.
- Review all new patient starts for consistency prior to treatment, verifying positioning, field orientation, prescription parameters, doses, accessories, and monitor units.
- Perform morning Quality Assurance on treatment units, assess equipment function per physics policy, and escalate malfunctions immediately.
- Assist with maintaining department supplies and provide supervised clinical education for radiation therapy students.
- Participate in after-hours on-call coverage, perform 2D treatment calculations, and operate with minimal supervision as required.
### What we're looking for
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program (technical/vocational school credential required).
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or Registered Technologist – Radiography (R.T.(R) ARRT) — required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — required.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and record-and-verify systems.
- Knowledge of anatomical structures for treatment localization and technical skills to execute Radiation Oncologist treatment plans.
- 1+ year of radiation therapy experience preferred.
