About this role

A Call Center Specialist – Physician Referrals role at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth supporting inbound scheduling and referral coordination from a remote position based in the Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana area. ### What you'll do - Handle inbound consumer inquiries, resolving scheduling and referral questions accurately and promptly - Follow established workflows and scripting to capture demographics, insurance information, and authorization requirements - Verify insurance eligibility at the time of scheduling to support timely authorization and reimbursement - Assess department schedules to maximize resource utilization and prevent scheduling conflicts - Document all consumer interactions and update records consistently across CRM, telephony, and EHR systems - Meet individual performance objectives including quality assurance metrics and productivity targets ### What we're looking for - Minimum 1 year of inbound call center or customer service experience - High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred) - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate multiple technology platforms including CRM and EHR systems - Strong attention to detail with the ability to listen and document simultaneously - Ability to reside in the Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana area with reliable transportation for onsite training - Bilingual Spanish and medical terminology knowledge are preferred; Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) is a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $18.51–$29.62/hour (~$38,501–$61,609 annually) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health support resources ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is a faith-based health system serving the greater Chicago metropolitan area with a focus on whole-person care across body, mind, and spirit. The consumer experience center (CxC) coordinates physician referrals and scheduling across multiple AdventHealth facilities. This remote role supports operations from a day-shift schedule Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays, with two weeks of onsite training in LaGrange, Illinois.
