About this role
AdventHealth Ocala is hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician for night shift inpatient care at its acute care hospital in Ocala, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments and direct patient care activities appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and follow all prescribed isolation and infection-control guidelines.
- Document and report all procedures and patient care activities in accordance with department policy.
- Assist in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff and enforce safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active BLS/CPR certification required.
- One of the following credentials required: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Prior PCT experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Previous experience as a unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent bedside role is a plus.
