Referral Specialist Practice Based

A Referral Specialist at AdventHealth supports physician office operations at the Care Pavilion clinic in Tampa, Florida, coordinating patient referrals and insurance authorizations from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ### What you'll do - Process and track referral orders, ensuring timely follow-through to meet standard-of-care benchmarks - Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance carriers regarding referral status, authorizations, and denials - Answer inbound calls, respond to faxes and voicemails promptly, and schedule procedures as directed - Verify that referral orders satisfy insurance requirements and correct deficiencies before submission - Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and patient database systems - Collaborate across department boundaries to support a cohesive care team ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 1+ years of ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding experience (preferred) - Prior experience in physician office billing, registration, scheduling, or a healthcare call center (preferred) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based applications - Working knowledge of medical terminology and telephone protocol - Ability to manage sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $16.63–$26.60 ($34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states, with a mission rooted in whole-person care of body, mind, and spirit.
