About this role
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a part-time Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its Medical-Surgical unit in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Perform and accurately document vital signs in the electronic medical record under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Carry out patient care duties and procedures in accordance with department policy and scope of practice.
- Function appropriately within scope during clinical emergencies.
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines, apply correct PPE, and enforce safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Conduct point-of-care testing based on demonstrated competency and hospital policy.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required).
- CNA certification (preferred) or Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) (preferred).
- EMT certification (preferred).
- 1+ year of applicable PCT experience (preferred).
- Commitment to continuous skill development and quality improvement initiatives.
