About this role
A Patient Care Technician supports nursing staff on the Medical/Surgical Unit with Telemetry at AdventHealth Carrollwood in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform and accurately document vital signs in the electronic medical record under the direction of a licensed nurse
- Carry out patient care duties and procedures in accordance with department policy and scope of practice
- Respond appropriately within scope during clinical emergencies
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines, apply correct PPE, and enforce unit safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff; may conduct point-of-care testing per competency and hospital policy
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required)
- 1+ year of applicable PCT experience (preferred)
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) credential (preferred)
- Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) (preferred)
- EMT certification (preferred)
