About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant supports daily clinical operations at AdventHealth's HH Avon Medical Center in Avon Park, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document visit reasons, patient history, and allergies per nursing protocols
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures while maintaining open communication for coordinated care
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; audit ordered tests to ensure timely receipt and follow-up of results
- Monitor nursing supplies and equipment functionality, reporting maintenance needs to leadership
- Conduct staff training sessions, review patient care protocols, and ensure compliance with infection prevention guidelines
- Delegate duties to office staff and manage operational issues to maintain clinic quality and regulatory standards
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Demonstrated skills in vital signs measurement, body substance isolation, and specimen collection
- Minimum 1 year of related clinical work experience (preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency (preferred)
