About this role
AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is hiring a full-time Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for day-shift inpatient care at its facility in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments accurately per physician orders and nursing policy.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments covering biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and discharge planning needs.
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations, including Code Blue and critical dysrhythmias, per protocol.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record, including allergies, lab data, diagnostics, and patient education.
- Coordinate patient transitions and serve as liaison to post-hospital care providers and community health resources.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN welcome.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
- Strong critical-thinking, clinical assessment, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation and infection control practices including CDC sterile technique and PPE use.
