About this role
A Patient Transportation Supervisor oversees all inpatient transport operations at AdventHealth Apopka in Apopka, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate and dispatch patient transport requests, assigning transporters to maximize routing efficiency across the campus
- Manage proper equipment selection (stretchers, beds, wheelchairs) for each transport assignment
- Maintain minimal dispatch times throughout each shift in accordance with department benchmarks
- Meet regularly with internal customers to identify and address service improvement opportunities
- Lead, coach, and recognize transport team members while maintaining inter-departmental relationships
- Input and track transport activity data using department software and generate Crystal reports as needed
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, assign priorities, and function independently
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with patients across all age groups (infant through geriatric)
- Proficiency with computer-based patient information systems; Microsoft Office familiarity preferred
- Ability to operate patient transport equipment and type a minimum of 20 wpm
