About this role

A Patient Safety Attendant (PRN, Nights) at AdventHealth Port Charlotte provides continuous direct observation and safety support for inpatient hospital patients at the 2500 Harbor Blvd facility in Port Charlotte, Florida. ### What you'll do - Maintain a direct line of sight with assigned patients at all times, including during family or visitor presence - Intervene to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and immediately escalate incidents to nursing staff - Accompany patients during transportation, testing, and procedures outside their normal care environment - Establish and maintain a safe patient environment using fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and regular room assessments - Document patient status and activities clearly and accurately throughout each shift - Support nursing staff with tasks including transporting patients, delivering supplies and specimens, and answering phones ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required) - 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting (preferred) - Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues - Demonstrated respect for patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality - Commitment to patient- and family-centered care principles ### What's included - Pay range: $15.00–$25.38 per hour ($31,200–$52,790 annualized) - PRN schedule with night shifts - Opportunity to work within a mission-driven health system ### About the practice AdventHealth Port Charlotte is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system with a mission centered on whole-person care.
