About this role
AdventHealth is seeking a full-time Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant to join its cardiovascular surgery team at its Zephyrhills, Florida facility.
### What you'll do
- Perform history and physicals, write admitting and progress notes, and dictate discharge summaries under supervising physician direction
- Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including initiating standing orders and completing pre-operative visits and follow-up exams
- Execute bedside procedures including chest tube removal, NG tube removal, and wound care per physician direction and medical staff privilege delineation
- Coordinate clinical activities, orders, and throughput for patients with acute coronary disease who have undergone cardiac surgery or interventional procedures
- Document patient care electronically using Cerner or Epic EHR (minimum 90% electronic documentation)
- Collaborate directly with Cardiovascular Surgeons and Cardiologists to deliver coordinated inpatient and ICU care
### What we're looking for
- Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant program, or a Masters/Doctorate Nursing Practitioner from an accredited program
- Current Florida PA license and PA-C certification (or ARNP licensure with Masters/Doctorate in Nursing)
- Experience in cardiovascular acute care settings such as Cardiac Surgery ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Surgery OR, or Heart and Lung Transplant
- Active BLS and ACLS certification
- Proficiency with electronic order entry and EHR documentation (Cerner or Epic preferred)
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and multitasking skills
