About this role
A Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports direct bedside care on the Med/Surg Medical unit at AdventHealth Tampa in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments per policy, delivering age-, mobility-, acuity-, and culturally-appropriate patient care
- Assist in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
- Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy
- Participate in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities to the RN
- Follow isolation guidelines, use protective equipment correctly, and enforce safety regulations
- Function appropriately during clinical emergencies and support performance-improvement and quality initiatives
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required)
- One of the following credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT (required)
- 1+ year of PCT experience (preferred)
- Previous bedside experience in an acute care unit, or equivalent role such as unit secretary or monitor technician (preferred)
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team
