Practice Highlights
- Medical office setting embedded within a multi-specialty physician network spanning 12 counties across South Texas
- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
- Performs venipuncture and both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
- Assists physicians with medical treatments, exams, and procedures; prepares equipment and maintains exam room readiness
- Coordinates specialized consultations, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Supports front-desk operations including phone management, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Maintains clean, sterile, and stocked exam rooms in compliance with infection control and PPE protocols
- Completes all clinical documentation in the patient medical record per practice charting policy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR current Medical Assistant certification, OR a minimum of three years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma
- CPR certification required
- Formal Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Comfort with clinical procedures including injections, venipuncture, and point-of-care laboratory testing
