Practice Highlights
- Outpatient medical office setting embedded within a 12-county South Texas multi-specialty network
- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
- Performs venipuncture and both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during medical treatments, exams, and procedures
- Coordinates specialized consultations, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Supports front-desk operations: phones, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Maintains clean, sterile, and stocked exam rooms in compliance with infection control and PPE standards
- Occasional local travel to support other clinic sites within the network
- Documentation completed in the patient medical record per practice charting policy; HIPAA compliance required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required — OR — three (3) years of relevant healthcare experience in lieu of diploma or current MA certification
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program preferred; MA diploma plus one (1) year of relevant experience is highly preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to perform occasional local travel to support additional clinic locations
