This is a direct patient care role embedded within an established physician-led primary care practice, offering a full-scope outpatient NP position with collaborative physician support. Practice Highlights
- Outpatient primary care clinic setting — no inpatient rounding or hospital call obligations described
- Full-scope primary care practice: comprehensive history and physical examinations, diagnosis and treatment planning, health counseling, and patient education
- Performs and oversees diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ordering and interpreting laboratory studies
- Orders medications independently within collaborative agreement and Arizona state scope-of-practice requirements, including DEA-scheduled substances
- Refers patients to physicians and outside agencies as clinically indicated — integrated referral network within the Carondelet Medical Group system
- Provides consultative direction to nursing staff, laboratory personnel, and clinic assistants
- Participates in patient review conferences, staffing discussions, and quality-focused committee activities including Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee
- Documentation completed in accordance with group practice policy — electronic health record environment consistent with a large regional physician organization
- Addresses the full biopsychosocial spectrum: biological, social, and psychological needs assessed during comprehensive physical examinations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program, including completion of a state-approved Nurse Practitioner curriculum (MSN or equivalent required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) as foundational preparation
- Active Arizona Registered Nurse Practitioner (RNP) license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- Additional certification(s) per governing board and in accordance with facility Medical Staff Bylaws (e.g., ANCC or AANP board certification in Family or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care)
- Current CPR certification required
- Active DEA registration with the state of Arizona, or eligibility to obtain
- Compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and organizational policies including HIPAA Privacy Standards
