Practice Highlights
- Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; no evenings or weekends
- Greets, instructs, and schedules patients in a prompt and courteous manner
- Registers new and returning patients into the computer system; verifies and updates demographic, address, and insurance information
- Collects payments and enters charges into the practice management system
- Answers and screens telephone calls, takes messages, and routes information to appropriate clinical staff
- Serves as a liaison between patients and clinical support staff
- Determines and inputs daily balance of charges and receipts as assigned
- Maintains a neat and orderly reception and work area
- Adheres to OSHA regulations and established office policies and procedures
- Reports directly to the Office/Practice Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication skills with consistent use of judgment and discretion
- Typing or data entry proficiency at 40 WPM
- Knowledge of front-office procedures and medical terminology
- Proficiency with medical office technology and practice management software
- Two years of front-office experience using medical management software preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public
