<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Full-time nights schedule, including weekend and holiday coverage as the senior administrative leader on shift</li> <li>Float pool role with facility-wide scope — responsible for patient throughput, bed placement, and care coordination across all units</li> <li>Serves as the administrative authority in the absence of unit managers and directors, providing real-time guidance and operational decision-making</li> <li>Collaborates across all clinical disciplines to facilitate timely patient placement into the appropriate care setting</li> <li>Partners with Unit Shift Managers on daily operations, staffing effectiveness, and minimizing agency personnel utilization</li> <li>Oversees compliance with Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) protocols and Professional and Technical Staff restraint compliance</li> <li>Manages Human Resources issues on shift, communicating directly with Directors and the Administrator on Call (AOC) as warranted; participates in staff disciplinary processes</li> <li>Conducts patient rounding to ensure whiteboard completion and drive inpatient satisfaction scores</li> <li>Reviews specialty bed utilization for fall prevention and pressure ulcer reduction</li> <li>Assists with month-end licensure and certification renewal tracking for unit staff</li> <li>Supports Guest Relations Coordination as part of the shift leadership function</li> <li>Part of a health system with deep community roots in the Rio Grande Valley, serving a diverse, high-need patient population since the early 1920s</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Active Registered Nurse licensure, certified, or registered to practice as required by Texas law and regulation</li> <li>Academic degree in nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or a related field (health administration, business, public health, or management) preferred</li> <li>Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse or equivalent leadership position</li> <li>AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required</li> <li>AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required as applicable per corporate policy for unit of hire</li> <li>Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required</li> </ul>
