- Pharmacy technician role encompasses dispensing, sterile product preparation, IV admixture, and automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) operations
- Responsibilities include accurately filling and labeling medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity; stocking and maintaining ADC cleanliness; and destocking expired medications
- Sterile compounding duties include stocking medications into sterile compounding areas and maintaining associated equipment
- Repackaging and labeling of oral medications and extemporaneous preparations with appropriate record-keeping
- Purchasing and inventory control responsibilities across all drug classes
- Medication room and patient bin audits for discontinued or expired medications
- Academic training site for University of Tennessee Surgical, Family Practice, and Psychiatric Residency programs

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license or certification as required by Tennessee state law
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification preferred
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently across a high-acuity, multi-service inpatient environment
