The Hospitals of Providence — a five-campus health system serving El Paso, Texas since 1902 — is recruiting a full-time Clinical Educator for its Medical/Surgical service lines, with primary accountability across Telemetry/IMC/PCU, Transitional Care Unit, IV Team, Monitor Techs, Cath Lab/EKG/CVRU, and Cardiology. This is a days-only, Monday–Friday-oriented role built for an experienced acute care nurse who is ready to step into a system-level education leadership position, shaping orientation, competency, and professional development programming across a regional multi-hospital network. The position carries direct project ownership of ACLS, EKG, Stroke, and Heart programs — making it an ideal platform for a clinician-educator who wants measurable institutional impact.

Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, day-shift schedule — no nights, no rotating shifts
  • Scope spans multiple units and clinics: Telemetry/IMC/PCU, Transitional Care Unit, IV Team, Monitor Techs, Cath Lab, EKG, CVRU, and Cardiology
  • Direct project ownership of ACLS, EKG, Stroke, and Heart educational programs
  • Designs, implements, facilitates, evaluates, and revises educational programming for nursing and non-nursing personnel across the facility
  • Leads orientation and ongoing competency programs aligned with the system's professional nursing practice model and regulatory standards
  • Delivers and coordinates Grand Rounds, in-services, continuing education, and specialty curricula
  • Provides leadership to preceptors; serves as mentor and facilitator for nurse residents
  • Participates in continuing education provider unit activities, including evaluation of CE-credit-qualifying nursing education activities
  • Contributes to clinical policy and procedure development; participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with market nursing leadership and interdisciplinary councils, committees, and workgroups
  • Five-hospital system with more than 120 years of community presence in El Paso, including a dedicated children's hospital

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a related specialty (required)
  • Minimum three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting (preferred)
  • Current Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain state licensure (required)
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles, organizational learning theory, and national nursing education practice standards
  • Clinical background in cardiovascular, telemetry, or progressive care settings is a strong asset given the unit scope
