Practice Highlights

  • High-volume call center environment with a minimum expectation of 60 inbound patient calls handled per day
  • Scheduling support across multiple clinic locations within a 12-county South Texas footprint
  • Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, cancellations, rescheduling, confirmations, and follow-up on referrals and voicemail inquiries
  • Routes incoming calls according to departmental guidelines; documents messages and creates tasks for Triage and Technician-On-Call
  • Coordinates with physicians and technicians to obtain approval for work-in or schedule-override appointments
  • Enters and maintains patient demographics and insurance information in the practice management system
  • Educates patients on secure patient portal services and policies
  • Monitors appointment queues and prioritizes tasks in alignment with scheduling goals

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or healthcare field training preferred
  • Prior call center experience preferred
  • One year of experience in patient registration or a related role within a medical group practice preferred
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage high call volume with speed, accuracy, and composure
