Practice Highlights
- Medical-Surgical unit providing direct, hands-on acute care nursing across a diverse inpatient population
- RN assumes full responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care on a per-shift and unit level
- Responsible for safe, timely medication administration in accordance with hospital policy
- Coordinates and integrates patient care based on the nursing process within the prescribed medical regimen
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated; accountable to the CNO for quality, safety, and resource management
- Participates in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a health system operating 65 hospitals and approximately 510 outpatient centers nationally, with access to top-tier medical specialists and service lines
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PALS and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred; new graduates are explicitly welcomed and encouraged to apply
