About the Community

El Paso occupies the far western tip of Texas along the Rio Grande, bordered by New Mexico to the north and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico to the south — a genuinely bicultural metropolitan area of nearly 900,000 residents. The city offers an exceptionally low cost of living relative to other major Texas metros, abundant sunshine year-round, and easy access to the Franklin Mountains State Park, White Sands National Park, and the broader Chihuahuan Desert landscape. El Paso's strong military presence (Fort Bliss), growing arts scene, and University of Texas at El Paso campus contribute to a diverse, community-oriented quality of life that rewards those who value affordability, outdoor recreation, and cultural richness.
