A well-established primary and specialty care network in greater Detroit, Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy Family Medicine and OBGYN practice. Practice Highlights

  • Dual-specialty setting supporting both Family Medicine and OBGYN providers within a large primary and specialty care network

  • Full clinical MA scope: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
  • Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections; conducts venipunctures
  • Performs both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing on-site
  • Familiarity with Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program utilized in daily workflow
  • Coordinates specialist referrals, pre-certification for ordered tests and surgeries, and patient checkout and scheduling support
  • Responsible for instrument sterilization, exam room stocking, and medical supply inventory management
  • Supports front-desk operations including phone triage and appointment scheduling as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR current Medical Assistant certification, OR three or more years of relevant healthcare work experience accepted in lieu of a diploma
  • MA diploma plus one year of relevant experience is highly preferred
  • Three years of family medicine experience preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of MCIR and VFC programs a plus
  • Must meet applicable federal, state, or local vaccination requirements or qualify for an approved religious or medical exemption with agreement to regular testing
