DMC Medical Group is recruiting a Medical Assistant to support a combined Family Medicine and OBGYN practice in Detroit, Michigan. Practice Highlights

  • Dual-specialty outpatient setting covering Family Medicine and OBGYN patient panels

  • Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, history intake, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
  • Clinical procedures include oral medication administration, IM, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections, venipuncture, and both CLIA-waived and non-CLIA-waived laboratory testing
  • Vaccine administration with working knowledge of the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program
  • Coordination of specialist referrals, diagnostic testing orders, and insurance pre-certification for surgeries and procedures
  • Exam room management: instrument cleaning, sterilization, storage, supply stocking, and daily inventory
  • Front-desk support functions including phone triage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
  • Documentation completed in the patient medical record in accordance with practice charting policy
  • Non-exempt, medical office-based position operating under physician direction

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR current Medical Assistant certification, OR three or more years of relevant healthcare work experience accepted in lieu of a diploma
  • MA diploma plus one year of relevant experience is highly preferred; three years of Family Medicine experience is a preferred differentiator
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of hire
  • Preferred: formal Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with MCIR and VFC program protocols preferred
  • Compliance with applicable federal, state, and local vaccination requirements; proof of full vaccination or approved exemption required prior to start date
