Practice Highlights

- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections; and conducts venipunctures
- Performs both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during medical treatments, exams, and procedures
- Coordinates specialist referrals, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Supports front-desk operations including phone triage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing

- Documentation completed in the patient medical record per practice charting policy; HIPAA compliance required throughout
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR a current Medical Assistant certification, OR a minimum of three years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma
- CPR certification required
- Formal Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Comfort with clinical procedures including injections, venipuncture, and point-of-care lab testing
- Familiarity with insurance pre-certification processes and referral coordination is an asset
