Practice Highlights
- Medical office setting embedded within a 12-county South Texas regional network of diverse multi-specialty providers
- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections; and conducts venipunctures
- Performs both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
- Prepares equipment and provides hands-on assistance to physicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Manages instrument cleaning, sterilization, and storage; maintains exam room stock and supply inventory
- Coordinates specialist referrals, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Supports front-desk operations including phone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Completes all clinical documentation in the patient medical record per practice charting policy
- Operates in full compliance with HIPAA, OSHA personal protective equipment standards, and corporate compliance requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR three years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma, OR a current Medical Assistant certification — any one of these pathways satisfies the requirement
- Current CPR certification required
- Formal Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
