Practice Highlights

  • Outpatient primary care setting within the DMC Medical Group network, serving the greater Detroit and southeastern Michigan patient population
  • Direct clinical support role working under physician direction — vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
  • Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections; and conducts venipunctures
  • Performs both CLIA-waived and non-CLIA-waived laboratory testing on-site
  • Prepares equipment and assists physicians during medical treatments, exams, and procedures
  • Coordinates specialized referrals, consultation scheduling, and insurance pre-certification for ordered surgeries and diagnostic tests
  • Supports front-desk operations including phone triage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
  • Maintains exam room readiness: instrument sterilization, room stocking, supply inventory, and compliance with PPE and infection control protocols
  • Completes all clinical documentation in the patient medical record per practice charting policy
  • Affiliated with the Detroit Medical Center — a regional academic health system with broad subspecialty depth spanning cardiology, neurology, sports medicine, and more

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required — or three years of relevant healthcare work experience accepted in lieu of diploma; current Medical Assistant certification also satisfies the requirement
  • Preferred: MA diploma from an accredited school plus at least one year of relevant clinical experience
  • CPR/BLS certification required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
  • Must comply with applicable federal, state, and/or local vaccination requirements; proof of full vaccination or an approved religious/medical exemption required prior to start date
