Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale is recruiting a PRN Night House Supervisor to serve as the senior clinical and administrative authority across a 70-bed community hospital during overnight shifts. This is a high-visibility leadership role at a facility that punches well above its size — offering a cardiac catheterization lab, surgical services, orthopedics and spine, urology, and two free-standing Emergency Departments serving a broad suburban Dallas catchment. Candidates who thrive in autonomous, fast-moving overnight environments and want genuine facility-wide impact will find this role compelling.

Perks and Benefits

  • PRN (as-needed) engagement offering scheduling flexibility for experienced nurse leaders
  • Access to a comprehensive benefits platform consistent with a large regional health system
  • E-Verify participating employer; employment practices comply with all applicable federal and state laws
  • Opportunity to work within a well-established, community-rooted facility that has served the Sunnyvale area since 2009
  • Collaborative culture where nearly half of staff live in the communities they serve

Practice Highlights

  • 70-bed acute care community hospital with a specialty footprint uncommon for its size, including cardiac catheterization lab, urology, orthopedics, spine, and surgical services
  • Two free-standing Emergency Departments extending the facility's reach across the eastern Dallas metro
  • Extensive outpatient services network encompassing physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, and imaging — serving Sunnyvale, Forney, Mesquite, Seagoville, and surrounding communities
  • House Supervisor holds full clinical and administrative authority during the overnight shift, functioning as the administrative designee in the absence of hospital administration
  • Responsible for hospital-wide patient placement in coordination with the ED, OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, Admitting, and all nursing units; activates emergency on-call staff (OR, Cath Lab) as needed
  • Manages staffing distribution and shift coverage across all nursing areas, ensuring productivity guidelines and patient care standards are met
  • Conducts regular rounds on all patient care units; serves as the escalation point for clinical, operational, and patient relations issues overnight
  • Responds to and leads emergency code responses facility-wide
  • Coordinates inter-facility patient transfers, including placements from external hospitals and transfers from TRMC
  • Interfaces directly with the Administrator on Call regarding patient safety events, legal matters, and community or media issues
  • Serves as a role model and mentor within the nursing department, enforcing policy and upholding standards of care
