About the Community

Worcester is Massachusetts' second-largest city, offering an urban lifestyle at a significantly lower cost of living than Boston — located approximately 45 miles to the east via I-90, making it accessible for weekend trips or specialty consultations. The city is home to a robust academic and medical community, a thriving restaurant and arts scene, and easy access to New England's outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, and coastal destinations. Worcester's diverse neighborhoods, strong public and private school options, and genuine sense of community make it a compelling long-term home for clinicians relocating to central Massachusetts.
