Practice Highlights

  • Medical office setting within a large multi-specialty network serving 12 counties across South Texas
  • Direct clinical support to physicians: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
  • Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
  • Performs venipuncture and both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
  • Prepares equipment and assists physicians during medical treatments, exams, and procedures
  • Coordinates specialist referrals, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
  • Supports front-desk operations including phone triage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
  • Maintains exam room readiness: instrument sterilization, storage, room stocking, and supply inventory
  • Completes all clinical documentation in the patient medical record per practice charting policy
  • Operates within HIPAA compliance standards and established infection control / PPE protocols

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR three or more years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma, OR a current Medical Assistant certification
  • CPR certification required
  • Formal Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated comfort with clinical procedures: injections, venipuncture, and point-of-care lab testing
