Practice Highlights

- Direct patient care responsibilities: vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Medication administration including oral medications, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
- Phlebotomy (venipuncture) and both CLIA-waived and non-CLIA-waived laboratory testing performed in-office
- Physician and provider assistance during medical treatments, exams, and procedures — including equipment preparation and room setup
- Coordination of specialist referrals, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Front-office support functions: answering phones, scheduling appointments, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Instrument cleaning, sterilization, and storage; exam room stocking and medical supply inventory management
- Documentation completed in the patient medical record per practice charting policy; HIPAA compliance required throughout
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR three or more years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma, OR current Medical Assistant certification
- CPR certification required
- Formal Medical Assistant certification preferred (not required if experience or diploma pathway is met)
- Comfort with clinical procedures including injections, venipuncture, and point-of-care lab testing
