Practice Highlights
- Float position supporting multiple clinic locations across the El Paso Physician Network — occasional local travel between sites is required
- Works under direct physician supervision in a medical office setting providing direct patient care
- Clinical duties include vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, visual acuity assessment, and chief complaint documentation
- Administers oral medications; performs intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections
- Performs venipuncture and both CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA-Waived laboratory testing
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Maintains complete and accurate medical record documentation in accordance with practice charting policy
- Coordinates specialist referrals, diagnostic testing appointments, and insurance pre-certification for ordered procedures and surgeries
- Supports front-desk operations including phone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient check-out, and referral processing
- Responsible for instrument cleaning, sterilization, storage, exam room stocking, and medical supply inventory
- Network spans primary care and specialty services, serving patients of all ages across the El Paso community
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program, OR three (3) years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of a diploma or current MA certification
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program preferred; MA diploma plus one (1) year of relevant experience is highly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability and willingness to travel locally between clinic sites as needed
