Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a Nursing Assistant for its Telemetry unit — a full-service acute care campus with more than 120 years of community health history, a specialized children's hospital, a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, and a comprehensive cancer care network. This is a direct patient care support role working under RN supervision across a system that spans six full-service hospitals, imaging centers, ambulatory services, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and a school of health professions. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available based on experience.

Practice Highlights
- Assigned to the Telemetry unit, providing basic nursing care to a monitored patient population under direct RN supervision
- General nursing units serve patients ages 15 through maturity; special care areas manage high-risk adult and adolescent conditions
- Maternal-child service lines include Labor and Delivery, Nursery (newborn through discharge), and Pediatrics (neonate through age 18)
- GI Lab serves patients from age 24 months through adult
- Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric units provide holistic, team-based care for adult patients and families
- Emergency unit staffed for all ages with competency in pediatric and high-risk adult care
- Surgical Services covers neonate through geriatric patient populations
- System infrastructure includes six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with dedicated pediatric ED, comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, rehabilitation centers, and ambulatory services
- Competency validation completed within a designated introductory period
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred education: Completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting program
- Preferred experience: 6 months in a healthcare setting and/or working knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
- Required on hire: Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into the position
