This PGY-1 residency provides structured, supervised clinical rotations across direct patient care, ambulatory services, drug information, drug use policy, and practice management — building a well-rounded hospital pharmacy foundation in a community with deep regional roots and a mission-driven culture. Practice Highlights

- Active involvement in pharmaceutical and supply purchasing and inventory control
- Participation in patient education development and delivery of lectures and in-service programs for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health practitioners
- Hands-on pharmacist responsibilities: medication dispensing, drug therapy consults, pharmaceutical care services, and oversight of pharmacy students and support staff
- Engagement in management and leadership activities within the pharmacy department
- Operated under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist in accordance with ASHP accreditation standards

Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
- Texas pharmacy license required within 90 days of hire
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required if direct patient care responsibilities are assigned
- ACLS and PALS certifications required if direct patient care responsibilities are assigned
- Prior pharmacy experience preferred
