El Paso sits at the convergence of Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua, Mexico — a culturally rich, sun-drenched city of nearly 700,000 with one of the lowest costs of living among major U.S. metros. The Franklin Mountains State Park offers hiking and mountain biking minutes from the medical center, while the city's deep Tejano and border heritage, thriving food scene, and proximity to both Albuquerque and the Guadalupe Mountains make it a compelling destination for physicians seeking an active lifestyle without big-city price tags. Highly rated public and private schools and a strong sense of community round out the appeal for families relocating to the region.
