A growing Neurosurgery program affiliated with a major North Texas health system is recruiting an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team in Mansfield, Texas. This is a high-acuity, high-autonomy role spanning the OR, ICU, step-down, and surgical floors within a multi-specialty organization that includes seven hospitals and more than 95 clinics across the region. The position offers genuine procedural scope — including first-assist in the OR — alongside daily surgical rounds and complex pre- and post-operative management. Practice Highlights

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current, unencumbered Texas NP or PA license with active board certification
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Active DEA registration required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a surgical APP; prior neurosurgery or critical care experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in pre- and post-operative management of complex surgical patients
  • Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills suited to a fast-paced inpatient surgical environment
