Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California is recruiting a full-time Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Director to lead point-of-care ultrasound education and operations within a high-volume Level II Trauma Center and expanding EM residency program. This is a rare dual-track opportunity — clinical leadership plus core faculty status — at the only Level II Trauma Center in eastern Ventura County, a 382-bed regional referral hub with robust GME infrastructure and 24/7 specialty coverage. Protected administrative time is built into the role, making this a genuine director position rather than a collateral duty. Physicians who want to shape an ultrasound program, teach residents, and practice at a well-resourced academic community hospital will find this a compelling fit.

  • Paid professional liability insurance with tail coverage included
  • Access to over 375,000 hours of CME/CE annually at no cost through an internal education platform

About the Community

Thousand Oaks sits in the Conejo Valley between Los Angeles and Ventura, consistently ranked among the safest and most livable cities in California — offering top-rated public schools, low crime, and a strong sense of community without the density of central Los Angeles. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate year-round, with easy access to Santa Monica Mountains hiking and trail systems, Pacific Coast beaches within 20 minutes, and the cultural and professional amenities of the greater Los Angeles metro. Cost of living, while reflective of Southern California, is meaningfully lower than comparable communities closer to the urban core, and the area draws physicians who want proximity to a major city without sacrificing quality of life.
