About the Community

Ellsworth serves as the gateway to Acadia National Park and Maine's Downeast coast, placing physicians within 20 minutes of Cadillac Mountain, ocean cliff hiking, Acadia's carriage trails, and Bar Harbor's harbor. The region offers four-season outdoor recreation — sailing, kayaking, and fresh seafood in summer; cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter — alongside a tight-knit, welcoming community that consistently ranks among the best quality-of-life destinations in the Northeast. Bangor, the region's largest city, is 30 minutes north and provides additional dining, shopping, and convenient air access via Bangor International Airport. Housing is remarkably affordable by New England standards, with waterfront properties and wooded acreage available at a fraction of comparable Massachusetts prices.
