A large, established anesthesiology group in Albuquerque, New Mexico is adding CRNAs to a well-staffed, collaborative team that offers genuine full-scope autonomy, a diluted call pool, and total compensation reaching $400,000. This is an independent contractor (1099) position built for experienced CRNAs who want to own their practice without the administrative burden — pre-ops, anesthetics, PACU management, regional blocks, and line placement are all yours, with physician mentorship available for blocks and lines.

Practice Highlights

  • Full-scope, independent CRNA practice — CRNAs independently perform all pre-operative assessments, anesthetic delivery, PACU management, regional nerve blocks, and line placement
  • Collaborative team model: 7 anesthesiologists and 30 CRNAs practicing alongside one another
  • Excellent case variety across elective and scheduled surgical services; case mix excludes trauma, open cardiac, thoracic, and obstetric anesthesia
  • Physician anesthesiologists available and willing to mentor CRNAs on regional blocks and advanced line techniques
  • CRNAs are not responsible for code response or airway emergencies in the ICU or emergency department
  • Highly favorable call structure: approximately 3 weekday calls per month, 1 weekend call every 6 weeks (8–9 weekend calls per year total), and only 1 holiday call per year

Qualifications

  • Current CRNA certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • Completion of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Active New Mexico APRN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Mexico
  • Comfort with full-scope independent practice including regional anesthesia and vascular access; mentorship is available for candidates building block and line experience
