About this role
StaffMed Health Partners is recruiting a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a full-time 1099 position at a high-volume emergency department in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
### What you'll do
- Provide emergency physician coverage across day, mid, and nocturnist shifts in a 40-bed, recently renovated ED.
- Manage a high-acuity patient population within a department seeing approximately 60,000 visits annually.
- Utilize Epic EMR with dedicated scribe support providing 30 hours of documentation assistance daily.
- Work alongside a team of emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and experienced nursing staff.
- Practice within specialty zones for critical care, mental health, and fast track.
- Pursue moonlighting shifts for additional income and scheduling flexibility.
### What we're looking for
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (BC/BE-EM).
- Physicians trained in Emergency Medicine required; Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians with substantial emergency experience also considered.
- Active Louisiana medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Comfort working in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department environment.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred.

### About the practice
This emergency department is a modern, 40-bed facility with specialty zones, onsite CT and digital radiography, and full Epic EMR deployment. Physician coverage runs 36–41 hours per day, supported by 55–69 hours of daily APP coverage. Strong administrative infrastructure and engaged clinical leadership define the day-to-day working environment.
