About this role
AdventHealth Avista is hiring a Laboratory Manager (Exempt II) to lead clinical laboratory operations at its hospital campus in Louisville, Colorado.
### What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical activities across all testing specialties
- Prepare and oversee the department operating budget, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and professional development
- Introduce and evaluate new tests, processes, and equipment, including cost analysis and change management
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures in the document control system, ensuring compliance with DNV, CLIA, CAP, OSHA, AABB, and other regulatory standards
- Direct department staffing through interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, and ongoing competency assessment
- Lead laboratory performance improvement initiatives and serve as a technical resource and system team chair for the applicable specialty
### What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science (or qualifying equivalency per CLIA guidelines)
- 2+ years of clinical laboratory management experience (required)
- 4+ years of clinical laboratory training or experience within the assigned specialty (required)
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a complex clinical laboratory (preferred)
- Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards including CLIA, CAP, OSHA, AABB, DNV, and COLA
- Strong leadership, communication, and computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
