AdventHealth South Orlando is hiring a full-time Clinical Documentation Second Level Reviewer I to support inpatient clinical documentation integrity from a fully virtual setting in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Review inpatient medical records and identify opportunities for documentation improvement using critical-thinking and clinical knowledge.
- Formulate and transcribe clinically credible clarifications to physicians and care team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Educate physicians, allied health practitioners, and nursing staff on documentation regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with health information management coders to resolve diagnostic assignment discrepancies and coding issues.
- Communicate with physicians and providers to ensure documentation accurately reflects severity of illness, risk of mortality, and complexity of care.
### What we're looking for
- Registered Nurse (RN), Adult Acute Care NP (ACNPC), or Physician Assistant (PA) license — OR Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification (required).
- 5+ years of acute care nursing experience in medical/surgical, ICU, post-acute, or emergency settings.
- 3+ years of Clinical Documentation Specialist experience.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pathophysiology, disease processes, clinical documentation requirements, and coding principles.
- Proficiency with multiple software platforms and ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
