About this role
AdventHealth Castle Rock is hiring a full-time Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization operations at its Castle Rock, Colorado facility.
### What you'll do
- Select appropriate materials, packaging, and sterilization methods for each instrument set based on manufacturer instructions
- Operate complex sterilization equipment; review and sign sterilizer recording charts to verify parameters before releasing items for clinical use
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble surgical instruments and complex instrument sets, documenting activity in computer tracking systems
- Identify and segregate reusable items for decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization; manage equipment safely in the decontamination area
- Execute the recall process for sterilization failures and escalate positive results to supervisors
- Rotate assignments across decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management areas; participate in new-employee training and department in-services
### What we're looking for
- Active CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Tech) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) — required
- High school diploma or equivalent — required; technical/vocational training in sterile processing preferred
- Working knowledge of microbiology principles, aseptic technique, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Familiarity with the full range of surgical instruments: use, operation, maintenance, assembly, and cleaning requirements
- 1+ year of related sterile processing experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
