Registration Specialist PRN (as needed)

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange is hiring a PRN Registration Specialist for day-shift coverage (3pm–11:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays) at its La Grange, Illinois hospital campus. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and preventing duplicate medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations within required timeframes - Create accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility and collect payments or establish payment plans - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed - Coordinate with utilization management staff on pre-authorization issues and provide patients with logistical information ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred - 1+ year of customer service, relevant healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general office equipment (fax, printer, scanner) - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives - Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred ### What's included - Pay range: $16.97–$28.78/hour ($35,298–$59,862 annualized) - PRN/as-needed scheduling with shift coverage flexibility ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange is a community hospital located at 5101 Willow Springs Road in La Grange, Illinois, operating as part of the Adventist Midwest Management Services network.
