About this role

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Certified Sterile Processing Technician for the night shift (8pm–4:30am, rotating weekends) at its Hinsdale, IL hospital campus. ### What you'll do - Decontaminate, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble surgical instruments and complex instrument sets for clinical use. - Select appropriate sterilization methods and packaging based on manufacturer instructions and aseptic technique standards. - Operate and monitor complex sterilization equipment; review and sign sterilizer recording charts before releasing items. - Maintain accurate records in computer tracking systems and paper log books, including sterility indicators and lot stickers. - Execute the recall process for sterilization failures and escalate positive results to supervisors promptly. - Rotate across decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management areas; support training of new staff. ### What we're looking for - Active CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) — required. - High school diploma or equivalent — required; technical/vocational training in sterile processing preferred. - Working knowledge of microbiology principles, aseptic technique, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention. - Familiarity with the full range of surgical instruments including assembly, disassembly, and cleaning requirements. - 1+ year of related sterile processing experience preferred. - BLS/CPR certification preferred. ### What's included - Pay range: $18.51–$29.62/hr ($38,501–$61,609 annualized). - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One. - Paid time off from Day One; 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale is a faith-based community hospital located at 120 N.
