About this role

A Patient Care Technician supports bedside care on the Medical-Surgical unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange in La Grange, Illinois, working 36 hours per week on night shift. ### What you'll do - Perform treatments per policy and procedure, tailoring care to each patient's age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background - Assist the registered nurse in delivering direct patient care, including obtaining nursing histories and reporting abnormalities - Document all procedures accurately in accordance with department policy - Follow isolation guidelines, apply personal protective equipment correctly, and enforce safety regulations - Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff across rotating weekends and holidays - Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and support performance improvement initiatives ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Minimum 1 year of applicable PCT experience or previous bedside care in an acute care setting - Active BLS/CPR certification (required) - One of the following credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (required) - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17–$27.46/hour (~$35,714–$57,117 annualized) - Up to $3,000 sign-on bonus - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources, whole-person well-being programs, and pet benefits ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange is a faith-based health system located at 5101 Willow Springs Road, La Grange, IL 60525, committed to whole-person care in body, mind, and spirit.
