About this role
A part-time night-shift Admission/Discharge RN role on a Medical-Surgical unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks in Glendale Heights, Illinois, working 3 shifts per week (3:00 PM–11:30 PM).
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual assessments and develop individualized care plans for Medical-Surgical patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions and adjusting plans as patient outcomes evolve.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies to support compliance and recovery.
- Collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care, including responding promptly to code situations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Supervise and delegate care tasks to healthcare team members to maintain quality and efficiency across the unit.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- EKG interpretation competency per unit requirements.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and abstract clinical reasoning skills.
